15 February 2026

About the Competition

EMI culture has become an integral part of modern consumer finance in India, influencing how individuals spend, borrow, and manage their money.

This inter-university online presentation competition focuses on the topic “EMI Culture in India: Convenience or a Silent Debt Trap?” and invites students to present balanced perspectives by analysing both the advantages and limitations of Equated Monthly Installments (EMIs). Participants are encouraged to critically examine whether EMIs act as a financial convenience or gradually lead to long-term financial stress.

The initiative aims to promote critical thinking, financial awareness, and responsible decision-making among students through research-based, original, and well-structured presentations.
